Katie Ruhe-Delater

Katie Ruhé Delauter is one of the most accomplished female soccer players to hail from Frederick County. A standout at Urbana High School, she was an immediate starter as a freshman in 2004, helping her team reach back-to-back regional finals. After overcoming a season-ending ACL injury in 2006, she led Urbana to its first Maryland 3A state championship in 2007. Her Freestate Shooters club team won Maryland State Cups in 2007 and 2008 and a US Club soccer national title in 2007. Delauter went on to become a four-year starter at the University of Pittsburgh, competing in the Big East Conference. She set the program record for most career assists and holds the all-time mark for consecutive starts (77), ranking second in career minutes played. A multi-year captain, she was named to the All-Big East team three times. After college, Delauter played professionally for Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur in Iceland.
